Jeder kennt das Problem beim Verreisen im Zug oder Flugzeug mit dem Fahrrad, dass man entweder immer draufzahlen muss oder eventuell ganz drauf verzichten soll.
Wir haben uns dazu Gedanken gemacht und ein Rucksack mit speziellen Maßen entwickelt um dieses Problem anzugehen und zu lösen. Der Powl Bikebag ist in der Lage ein komplettes Fahrrad zu verstauen und bietet zusätzlich Pltz für euren Stuff. Dazu ist er weitestgehend so gepolstert, dass das Fahrrad sicher mitgenommen werden kann. Natürlich kann nicht die Sicherheit eines Hartschalen Flugkoffers geboten werden, allerdings können durch das richtige verpacken der Rahmen und die Laufräder relativ sicher verstaut werden.
Viele Airlines verlangen Zusatzgebühren für das Mitführen von Fahrrädern. Die Lufthansa schreibt zB vor, dass Gepäckstücke bei denen die Summe von Länge, Breite und Höhe knapp unter 160cm liegen muss. Nach der Entwicklungsphase hat der Bikebag eine Kantensumme von 170cm und liegt somit nur knapp über dieser Grenze. Für alle die also regelmäßig auf diversen Fixedgear Crits / Kuriermeisterschaften weltweit unterwegs sind und viel fliegen müssen kann das große Ersparnisse bedeuten, wenn das Fahrrad nicht mehr als Sportgepäck aufgegeben werden muss.
Der Rucksack ist unter der großen Klappe als Rolltop realisiert. Gefertigt aus 1000den Cordura aussen und LKW Plane innen. Zusätlich sind alle Wände der Tasche gepolstert und mindestens 0,7 cm dick.

Wir empfehlen für empfindliche Rahmen und Laufräder einen Hartschalen Koffer im Flugzeug. Das Personal an den Flughäfen geht nicht zimperlich mit Gepäckstücken um. Nur bei der richtigen Handhabung ist jedes Fahrrad im Bikebag sicher.

Everyone who wants to travel with their bike is aware of the problem you face at the airport or when booking a flight. Either you have to pay an exceptional amount of money or leave your bike at home and rent one, where ever you are going.
We have tried to solve this problem. The Powl bike bag is capable of holding a whole bike, while still offering some space for other things needed on your trip. Furthermore the bag is padded as far as possible, so the bike can be transported as safely as possible. Of course it cannot match the safety of a hard cover bike suitcase, however by smartly placing the wheels on each side of the frame, you can transport it relatively safely.
Many airlines demand additional fees for flying with a bike. The airline Lufhansa for example states that a piece of luggage has to be beneath the lenght, width and height just below 160cm.
We developed a bag which has a size of 170 cm, meaning only slightly above the requested measurements. For all those who regularly fly to different fixed gear events, messenger championships through the whole world, will save a lot of money with this bag, as it does not have to be send as special luggage.
Beneath the flap, the bag is designed as a roll top. Made out of 1000den Cordura on the outside and truck tarpaulin on the inside. In addition the walls are padded up to 0,7cm.
We recommend a hard shell suitcase for sensitive and expensive wheels in the aircraft. The staff from the airlines is usually not very careful, when it comes to moving around luggage. Only with the correct handling, the bike stays safe in the bike bag.
